The Transition Towards Menopause Starts Long Before You Realise

The symptoms women bring to the table are often dismissed by calling it "stress," "lack of sleep," or "just aging" because no one connects them to the gradually happening hormonal shift inside.

During this time, most women are handed two choices by the system: Wait it out or take HRT with no further discussion.

This program is a third choice that’s presented to you.

Most women are unaware that one can prepare the body in the peri-menopausal phase with everyday routines and systematic ayurvedic therapies to make this change smooth.

Menopausal issues before panchakarma

If you recognise yourself in several of these, you are not imagining it. These are clinical features of a hormonal transition that affects nearly every system in the body.

Why Panchakarma? Why Now? What if it is too late?

In order to return to balance this program follows a simple philosophy: Relax. Reduce. Replenish. First, we calm the nervous system and reduce accumulated imbalances with Panchakarma. And then, we rebuild strength through personalised therapies, nutrition, and Ayurvedic medicines.

For many women menopause brings poor sleep, hot flushes, anxiety, joint aches, digestive changes, and fatigue. These symptoms coincide with the signs of aggravated Vata, the element inside our body that governs the nervous system and many of the body’s regulatory functions.

Following Panchakarma at this stage heals their body inside out, and equips their body to have the energy to manage the shifting hormones better. That’s why the earlier this work begins, the better. But even after menopause, the body retains a remarkable ability to heal and adapt.

At Sitaram x Postcard Goa, the menopause program is not based on symptom management. It is about clinically helping the body to regain balance during one of life’s most important transitions.

Meet Your Doctor

Dr.Resmi Rajagopal

Ayurvedic Gynaecologist · Hormonal Health & Menopause Specialist

Dr. Resmi has spent her clinical practice focused on women's hormonal health: fertility, PCOS, perimenopause, and menopause.

Her approach is grounded in classical Ayurveda and informed by an understanding of modern women's lives, the demands, the pace, and the realities of working through symptoms that the world expects them to manage silently. During the retreat, Dr. Resmi personally leads each guest's daily program consultations, treatment selection, and protocol design.

This is not a retreat where the doctor visits just twice a week.

Every element of the week is selected based on your initial assessment, your symptoms, and your constitution.

Two women on the same retreat will not receive the same therapies.

Personalised Panchakarma Therapies

Two daily Ayurveda treatments, selected by Dr. Resmi based on your conditions

Daily Doctor Consultations

Ongoing review of your progress, not a one-time intake but refined day by day.

Personalised Ayurvedic Nutrition

Meals designed for your digestion, your dosha, and your current state. Not a generic retreat menu.

Yoga, Breathwork & Yoga Nidra

Gentle daily practices chosen to support sleep, hormonal regulation, and nervous system recovery.

Hormonal Health Awareness Sessions

Exploration of hormonal health, self-care, emotional wellbeing, skin and weight management, and Ayurvedic practices.

Space to Slow Down

A schedule designed around rest, not stimulation. No crowded dining halls, no rushed transitions between treatments.

A slower rhythm, by design.

Your therapies are determined by Dr. Resmi based on your constitution, presenting symptoms, and stage of transition.

The setting is designed for the kind of sleep that is often the first thing perimenopause takes away.

This is for you if you are experiencing:

  • Peri-menopause & Menopause, with symptoms that disrupt daily function
  • Post-menopausal symptoms that have not resolved
  • Stress, burnout, and the kind of exhaustion that sleep does not fix
  • Sleep disturbances, especially early-morning waking
  • Joint pain, frozen shoulder, or new musculoskeletal symptoms in your forties
  • New-onset anxiety or mood shifts that feel chemical

This retreat is not for:

  • Women with acute illness or recent major surgery
  • Women undergoing active cancer treatment without their oncologist's clearance
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Anyone seeking a quick weight-loss program or a holiday with treatments

The pre-retreat consultation determines fit. Not every enquiry results in a booking, and this is intentional.

A week resets the foundation. The work continues at home.

Perimenopause is a multi-year transition. No single week can resolve it, and any program that claims otherwise is not being honest with you.

What one week of clinical Panchakarma can do:

  • Address accumulated imbalances that have built up over years
  • Establish a baseline of better sleep, calmer digestion, and reduced symptoms
  • Give you a clear understanding of what your body responds to
  • Send you home with a continuation protocol — diet, lifestyle, herbal support — tailored to you

Many guests return for a follow-up week six to twelve months later. Some require only the initial program. This is determined clinically, not commercially.

Benefits

Better sleep quality Reduced stress & anxiety Relief from hot flashes Improved emotional balance Enhanced energy & vitality Joint & muscle relaxation Hormonal wellness support Overall rejuvenation

Sitaram x The Postcard Old Goa retreat

Old Goa. Six rooms. Intentionally Exclusive.

Sitaram × The Postcard sits in the quiet heritage surroundings of Old Goa. The property has only six rooms, which means treatment scheduling is unhurried, the dining room is never crowded, and the staff know each guest by name within a day.

The quietness is not just aesthetic. It is clinically useful. Deep parasympathetic recovery, which is what the nervous system needs most during perimenopause, requires an environment that is not constantly demanding attention. The setting becomes part of the medicine.

Guest Testimonials

“Before the program, I was struggling with disrupted sleep, hot flashes, anxiety, and low energy. The Menopause Panchakarma retreat allowed me to pause, restore, and focus on my health.

The combination of personalized therapies, nourishing meals, gentle movement, and dedicated care helped me feel calmer, sleep better, and regain a sense of balance. Most importantly, I left feeling supported, understood, and better equipped to navigate this stage of life.

A truly transformative experience.”

Pre-Retreat Consultation

Every journey begins with a conversation.

Before reserving your stay, you will have a one-to-one consultation with Dr. Resmi. This helps us understand your health concerns, your goals, and whether this retreat is the right fit for you at this stage of your journey.

During the consultation, we discuss:

  • Your current symptoms and health history
  • What you hope to achieve from the retreat
  • Whether Panchakarma is appropriate for you at this time
  • The level of support your body is likely to need
  • Any factors that may influence your treatment plan

Just as importantly, this conversation allows you to get to know your physician before you arrive. In Ayurveda, trust and understanding between doctor and patient are an important part of the healing process. Establishing that connection early helps us create a more personalised and meaningful retreat experience.

By the end of the call, you should have a clear understanding of whether this retreat is right for you and what you can realistically expect from your stay.
